• POLIplex polyethylene pipe systems - including pipe 16mm to 900mm in diameter in a variety of pressure classes. The ability to butt weld pipe sections to form a continuous pipeline allows their use in above-ground pipelines without thrust blocks. Black PE also provides exceptional UV resistance, making the product particularly suitable for the mining industry in the hot and arid conditions of inland Australia. Iplex also has a full range of compression and electrofusion fittings including tapping saddles, shouldered ends, stub flanges with backing plates and fabricated fittings.   Iplex has developed a new polyethylene pipe specifically for the mining market called "THERMAPIPE" - see Mining & Industrial News for more information.
  
  

• PVC-U pressure pipe and fittings - with diameters of 15mm to 80mm and PVC-M pressure pipes for DN 100 to DN 300 in a variety of pressure classes. UPVC pressure pipes have been installed in Australia since the 1960's offering strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance. The pipes are manufactured to AS/NZS 1477 and AS/NZS 4765 respectively with two different diameter series. Series 1 "White" is available with both rubber ring and solvent weld jointing systems. Series 2 "Blue" which is blue in colour, has rubber ring deflection joints and is dimensionally compatible with cast iron, ductile iron, GRP and AC pipe of the same nominal diameters. In mining applications PVC-U is commonly used as a bore-liner.
  
  

• Flowtite - Glass reinforced plastic (GRP) pressure and non pressure pipes and fittings up to 3000mm in diameter in a variety of pressure classes is likely to be the most economic choice for major transmission mains.

Thermapipe - the unique polyethylene pipe that resists heat absorbtion

The black colouring of conventional PE in long pipelines contributes to significant warming of the pipe and its contents. This necessitates de-rating of the pipes pressure capability and requires the specification of higher pressure class pipes, with lower hydraulic capacity and at higher cost. THERMAPIPE resists the absorbtion of heat by the use of a highly reflective white pigmented polyethylene on the external diameter. This material is extruded concurrently with the black pipe wall, forming an integral part of the pipe and reducing the heating effect from the sun to less than half that generated with conventional black PE. • Hydraulic Flow Calculator - This program can be used by designers of water supply, sewerage, irrigation or industrial pipelines, and has been made available as an alternative to using Flow Resistance Charts. It allows the user to select a pipe from the Iplex Pipeline range suitable to meet the hydraulic flow requirements of any single pipeline under pressure or gravity flow conditions.
