Welcome to Iplex 'Energy and Telecommunications'. Here you will find all the information you need on Electrical, Gas and Telecommunication pipes, conduits and fittings.
Iplex Pipelines manufactures and distributes a large range of pipeline/conduit systems for Power, Gas and Telecommunication Companies and Corporations throughout
Australia and New Zealand.
Iplex Pipelines are equipped to offer comprehensive technical back-up support. For help phone IPLEX ON-LINE ph: 13-18-40, fax: 13-18-60 or email sales@iplexpipelines.com.au.
'Energy and Telecommunications' products available from Iplex include:
ELECTRICAL:
Polyethylene conduit manufactured to AS/NZS 4130-1997 in diameters 63mm - 125mm. (standard electrical Polyethylene pipe is coloured orange and manufactured in coils 100m - 300m.) See Polyethylene pipe and fittings section for more information on Iplex polyethylene pipe & fittings.
uPVC conduit and fittings manufactured to AS/NZS 2053-1999 in diameters 19mm - 150mm. (standard electrical uPVC pipe is coloured either grey (for above ground applications) or orange (for below ground applications) and is normally specified in 4m lengths. See uPVC Electrical conduit pipe and fittings for more information.
Polyethylene cable cover manufactured is coloured orange and comes in 3mm and 5mm thick, 1.25m 'slabs' or 25m rolls. See Electrical conduit pipe and fittings for more information.
GAS:
Polyethylene pipe manufactured to AS/NZS 4130-1997 in diameters 20mm - 315mm. (options include: all yellow or black with 6 yellow stripes - depending upon Gas Company requirements.) Electro-fusion fittings to suit are also available. See Polyethylene pipe and fittings section for more information.
uPVC pipe manufactured to AS 1464 -1984 in diameters 25mm - 200mm. (uPVC gas pipe is coloured yellow and comes in standard 4m lengths.)
TELECOMMUNICATIONS:
Polyethylene conduit to Telstra requirements in diameters 25mm - 110mm. (telecommunication Polyethylene conduit is manufactured white in Class 6 and Class 9.) See Polyethylene pipe and fittings section for more information.
uPVC conduit/split conduit and fittings to Telstra requirements in diameters 20mm - 100mm. See Telecommunications conduit pipe and fittings for additional information.
Polyethylene pits, pit covers and collars, all Telstra approved, are distributed by Iplex as part of the overall telecommunications package offered to Contractors and Sub-Contractors. See Telecommunications conduit pipe and fittings for additional information.

SUPERTUFF - A new conduit concept from Iplex - improving the strength of electrical and telecommunication conduit.
New technology recently acquired by Iplex now allows the field performance of PVC conduits to be extended.
uPVC conduit impact strengths are comparatively low and can deteriorate following extended and unprotected exposure to solar radiation. This can lead to handling and installation damage, impact damage on post/pole installations and damage to buried conduits by excavation equipment.
Historically this risk of damage has been offset via specification of thicker wall conduits, however with (modified) PVC-M, scope now exists to improve the field performance of both buried and above ground conduits. The incorporation of a "rubber" modifier changes the mode of impact failure from brittle (uPVC) to ductile (PVC-M).
Crack propogation is minimal with PVC-M, thus conduit damage is localised rather than propogating along the conduit length.
The other main criteria of underground conduits is their ability to take superimposed loads - Iplex PVC-M conduits are designed to take all likely traffic loadings. For more information on SUPERTUFF see Telecommunications conduits pipe and fittings.

Iplex pipeline design tools can be accessed on the Iplex Website.
Iplex Pipeline Design is a program which enables the user to undertake the structural design of a buried flexible pipeline. Click for a free demonstration.
Hydraulic Flow Calculator - This program can be used by designers of water supply, sewerage, irrigation or industrial pipelines, and has been made available as an alternative to using Flow Resistance Charts. It allows the user to select a pipe from the Iplex Pipeline range suitable to meet the hydraulic flow requirements of any single pipeline.
Chemical Resistance Guide - click here for information on chemical resistance properties for Iplex pipe products.
