Iplex Pipelines premium solvent cements and benzene free priming fluids are manufactured to Australian Standard AS3879(Int). "Solvent cements and priming fluids for use with uPVC pipes and fittings".

Iplex solvent is a solution of resin in a mixture of solvents, which soften the surfaces when applied to uPVC pipe and fittings. It is not a glue. A different solvent is used for pressure and non-pressure applications - "Type P" for pressure joints with an interference fit and "Type N" for non-pressure joints that may have a small clearance.

A thin uniform coat is applied to both the spigot and socket and the joint is assembled while the surfaces are still wet and fluid. The cement layers intermingle and become one. The strength of the joint develops as the solvent permeates the uPVC and the volatile constituents evaporate.

Before applying the solvent cement, it is essential to use Iplex Priming Fluid for successful jointing as the fluid not only cleans and degreases, but removes the glazed surface from uPVC which allows the solvent cement to permeate into the wall of the pipe or fitting.

Solvent cements and priming fluids are highly flammable and should be stored in a safe secure place and should be used in a place with adequate ventilation.

Iplex jointing fluid is an economical "lubricant" for pressure and non-pressure applications where jointing forces are not critical and a bacterial lubricant is not necessary.

Iplex lubricant Plus is a quality bactericidal "lubricant" which meets Water Authority standards for jointing rubber ring jointed pipes in potable water applications.

Use of Iplex Lubricant can lower jointing forces considerably and is quickly removed from potable water systems when flushing commences. Iplex Lubricant has no detrimental effect on the rubbers used in gasket materials.

All Iplex jointing fluids are accredited under the Watermark Scheme MP 52 Specification 014 Licence NO.W 103 and type tested to AAS 4020.
